Jacob Back on Track

Daryl Jacob the young County Wexford man landed one of the top jobs in Britain in 2013 when being appointed as first jockey at Paul Nicholls yard. He gets his season back on track today at Newton Abbot when taking the mount on Valco De Touzaine in the 2 mile 1 furlong novice chase. This four year old son of Dom Alco has never jumped a steeplechase fence in public, but he is sure to be well schooled on his debut over the bigger obstacles.  Jacob burst on the scene a number of years ago when taking the Christmas chasing highlight, the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown for Robert and Sally Alner, while his unforgettable short head win aboard Neptune Collonges in the Aintree Grand National in 2012 has seen him write his own piece of history. He must be hoping that the 2013/14 National Hunt season can see him create even more history.
